Local print spooler service is not running

We recently came across a problem with our print spooler system, and we are now working on it. We have not experienced any loss of data, but we have heard about some systems that have gone without spooling for several hours. There is no fix for the problem at this time, but we didn’t want our readers to worry, so we are providing this post to let you know that things are fine and we are taking care of things.

It’s a common problem: A printer becomes disconnected from the network, and you can’t get it to reconnect. Usually, this is due to a missing printer service or a malfunctioning printer. While the former is easy to solve, you might just need to run a quick scan to try and figure out the problem with your printer. While scanning, you might also want to check for other problems, such as a missing driver, a misconfigured local print spooler, or a service that’s not running.

The Print Spooler service is your primary contact with your printer. If this service is down for any reason, you will not be able to print any documents.

And sometimes the Windows print spooler service doesn’t work for various reasons. For example, users have received error messages such as the following:

The local pressure washer service is not working.

Therefore, we have prepared some workarounds in case you are experiencing problems with the print spooler in Windows 10. Since this can be a serious problem, we will look at the following scenarios and error messages:

  • The Print Spooler service is automatically stopped in Windows 7.
    • Windows 7 users have reported in the past that the printer spooler service occasionally stops.
  • The Print Spooler service does not work in Windows 10
    • Problems with the Print Spooler service are also common in Windows 10.
  • Error 1068 Coil under pressure
    • Error 1068 is one of the most common pressure washer problems.
  • The pressure manifold keeps breaking down
    • It is also possible that the pressure washer suddenly stops working, even though you were able to get it to work initially.
  • The Windows 10 print spooler does not start.
    • On the other hand, you may not be able to run the print spooler at all.

How do you resolve problems with the pressure reel service?

  1. Restart the Print Spooler service
  2. Make sure all dependencies work
  3. Updating Printer Drivers
  4. Remove unnecessary printers
  5. Start the troubleshooter
  6. Resetting Internet Settings
  7. Deselect the Allow service to communicate with the office option.
  8. Setting up Prin Spooler for automatic start-up

1. Restart the pressure washer

  1. Go to Search, type services.msc and open Services.
  2. Search for the Print Spooler service.
  3. Right click on it and navigate to Reboot, as shown in the screenshot below.

Since the print spooler sometimes stops working or an error has occurred, the first thing to do is just restart the service.

This command restarts the Print Spooler service, and hopefully it will work again. However, if restarting the service did not work, try one of the following solutions.

2. Ensuring that all dependencies are carried out

  1. Go to Services and find the print spooler (as described above).
  2. Right click on the Print Spooler service and go to Properties.
  3. Click the Dependencies tab and find out which services are required to run the print spooler.

  1. Now look for services and make sure all dependencies are running.

Print Spooler needs certain other services to work, and when these services are stopped, Print Spooler is stopped.

3. Updating Printer Drivers

  1. Go to Search, type devicemngr and open Device Manager.

  1. Find the printer you want to remove, right-click on it, and go to Update Driver.
  2. Allow the wizard to search for new drivers.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  4. Restart your computer.

If your printer drivers are not up to date, you are likely to encounter errors when trying to print documents.

To eliminate this possibility, we will update the printer driver and install the latest version of the software.

Automatic driver update

If this method does not work, or if you do not have the computer skills to update the drivers manually, we strongly recommend that you do it automatically with a professional driver update utility after selecting the correct printer driver.

In most cases, the current drivers for your PC’s hardware and peripherals are not properly updated by the system. There are important differences between the generic driver and the manufacturer’s driver. Finding the right driver version for each of your hardware components can be tedious. Therefore, an automatic wizard can help you find the right drivers and update your system every time, and we recommend DriverFix. Here’s how:

  1. Download and install DriverFix.
  2. Start the software.
  3. Wait until all defective drivers are detected.
  4. DriverFix will show you all drivers that have problems and you only need to select the one you want to fix.
  5. Wait until the application has downloaded and installed the latest drivers.
  6. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

DriverFix

Make sure the drivers for the components of your PC are working properly without endangering your computer.

Run a PC scan with Restoro Repair Tool to find errors that cause security problems and slowdowns. Once the scan is complete, the recovery process replaces the damaged files with new Windows files and components.

So it’s best to remove printers you don’t need so that the printer you’re using now can work without interruption.

  2. Search for the Print Spooler service.
